haha how do you find the range of a given function
for example

f(x)=1 / root( x^2-1)

hahah sorry again, i don't know if there is a root on the keyboard

You find the domain and range by considering what x and y values make the function not make sense in the xy plane

you can't have a square root of a negative number, and a square root is defined as positive

in this case x2-1 > 0 (it can't be = 0 in this case as it is the denominator)
(x+1)(x-1) > 0
x<-1 or x>1

y>0 (the root is always>0 and can have all positive values, therefore 1/root will also have all possible values and always be >0)
