Hi

I just saw a thread moments ago about a student having his year 11 report mark for maths counted towards year 12. Is this true? I always thought nothing from year 11 (term 1 to 3) counts into year 12.

Well it may be true for his school. But for most other schools in NSW, highly unlikely. If you were not warned beforehand then no.

I don't think it's true, but I'm not too sure. I have NEVER heard of any schools doing this until recently, which is very strange.

Well my school curriculum coordinator and other teachers of my school said nothing from year 11 results goes towards our HSC mark but after hearing this I may have second thoughts because most teachers usually do not tell the students everything.

Yeah, but can schools changed their mind???

Looking over the regulations (as posted by D94 in that thread) - prelim content can be tested in the HSC, HOWEVER prelim assessments cannot count towards the HSC. So their school appears to have violated the regulations.
