Okie so im seeing all these people ask for estimates on this site like every night. And I know quite a few other people who use the JUAI, SAM and Albert Einstein Calculators.

Just wondering, how accurate is an estimate ? Because isn't it your ranks that matter ? And your school rank's matter too. Your school mark doesn't matter at all right ? So what if someone is coming first in all their subjects but have crappy marks, their estimate ends up very low. Similarly, some schools may set very easy tests and a lot of people could get good marks, and then think they're getting a really good uai.

So I'm just wondering, how does this work ? And how accurate is it exactly ? Anyone from the past get an estimate which is very close to their UAI ? or should i say ATAR ....

Estimates are used as a guidance to what sort of UAI you're going to get based on how you're doing. The reliability of it varies alot, after all alot can change in the time period between now and the HSC. Moreover, they're just estimates so its reliability is really up to you to decide.
