Remember that since you can't get an ATAR lower than 30, that "30%" is spread out elsewhere :p
I was under the assumption that you DON'T get an ATAR if it was under 30.
Not that you CAN'T get under 30.

Lol yes, that's correct... I dunno where my head was at.

Still, I think my point is valid, because 30% of students will not get an ATAR less than 30. Judging by those statistics, it looks like there were slightly more people with an ATAR of 90+ than those with an ATAR of 80-90. Think of it more like a Bell Curve with a more emphasised higher end. lol :p

I always thought that because it was a rnaking, that only 10% of people would get 90+

I think it's something like 10% or your previous cohort (used to be year 10, i vaguely remember they changed it to year 7 or something).

So the bottom ranks (From 0-20 or something) are people who dropped out, repeated a year, or whatever. Hence, the top rankings will be a larger percentage of the students who actually sit the HSC.
