hi, can someone help me plz with this question?

how does the ability to enter torpor (this is when an animal becomes sluggish and inactive) allow the echidna to survive very cold conditions during winter?

it doesn't waste energy on maintaining full functionality of all body parts. Significantly reduces the amount of food and energy required to maintain survival, especially during periods of famine, or when food is scarce eg cold winter months

not that i do bio or anything...

Also, post in the right forum next time
