This really isnt hsc maths, unless you're talking about geometric series, which diverge if the common ratio lies strictly between -1 and 1. But anyways, this is a fairly difficult topic, there are a few standard ways that you should google, including:

- limit ratio test
- limit comparison test
- integral test

etc.

Theres quite a few, and its sometimes difficult to know which to use. Sometimes none work

Yeah it can take a bit of practice to see what test to use. You may want to look at the Leibniz test for convergence of alternating series

I had a talk with my Maths teacher about this topic. She told that it will not be in current syllabus. However, we expect that the examiner try to ask different way about geometric serie.

Well theres only one thing you need to know about geometry series, they converge if |r| < 1, where r is the common ratio.
