i've just started the hsc content for econ this term and feeling quite overwhelmed considering i didnt really study much in year 11 for econ- i get the basic concepts (e.g. supply/demand, ppf etc) but i didnt absorb a lot of the definitions and niche points in the preliminary syllabus.
will this affect how well i perform in my exams?

i think this laid back attitude was mainly because i was intimidated by the subject and the amount of content covered. the irony is that i really enjoy being informed about the state of the economy.
should i just drop the subject or keep trying at it?

thanks a million :))

There's not a lot of carry over, at least not in a lot of depth.

Keep at it. Make notes, do questions, and read up recent financial news here and there. Pay special attention to definitions. You'll know which ones are important because both Riley and Dixon textbooks will put them in a box to the side of the page.

Since you like to stay informed about economic stuff, you''ll do just fine.
