Help; tutoring for the first time (1 Viewer)

Hey guys.

I got a call from a year 7 who wants tutoring tomorrow so I dont have much time to prepare.

He wants help preparing for NAPLAN.
He is struggling with his maths and thats what Ill be tutoring him with.

I was thinking of printing off a NAPLAN paper and going through it with him.

Any ideas?

Also, what should Yr 7 be up to by this time in the year in terms of topics covered?

Maybe you can ask him to bring maths questions he don't know and ask you, as well as ask him what areas of maths does he particularly struggle with, I think in general you need to make sure he thoroughly understands the maths principles before going through the exam paper-just a thought As for what topics should be covered, it will depend on the school and the textbook used-there really is no definitive answer. Good luck with your tutoring
