What is the reaction between Sodium Thiosulfate (Na2S2O3) and Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4)?
Please what type of reaction is this (like is it precipitation or an acid-base, etc?) - what type of reaction?
And what is the balanced chemical equation. Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure, but I had a look at this video:

Seems like it's a precipitation, because of the precipitation of sulphur

And what is the balanced chemical equation. Thanks!

Perhaps someone that does/did Chemistry would like to confirm or correct this.

I hope this helps! :D

Sodium thiosulfate is a salt. In the presence of sulfuric or other strong acid, it decomposes and the elemental sulfur is seen as the precipitate, but the reaction is classified as a decomposition reaction.

Decomposition is a reasonable description and more appropriate than precipitation.

It could also be called a redox reaction given the thiosulfate is being both reduced to elemental sulfur and oxidised to sulfur dioxide.
