hey everyone =]
i've got this assignment on distinctive voices and i'm struggling on it =[ it's so difficult, i'm doing 'The Life and Crimes of Harry Lavender'. the question is "distinctive voices lead us to think about significant issues in our society, such as stereotypes about gender and setting. do you agree?"
does anyone have any pointers on how to go about answering this question? =/

Hi, I'm sure this is really late, but hopefully it will help some with your last few days of study!

- At the beginning of the novel she describes, "a blonde in the bed" and has a male tone to her voice, and until we discover she is a female, a few pages in, we are thinking its all about a male PI because that's what gender stereotypes lead us to believe.

- She was also not taken seriously by the doctors who continuously looked at her like she was dumb, somewhere in the book she states she didn't think they would have if she was a female.

You can expand on those, and also you should be able to find heaps more in the book
