I would personally not do this text because not only, it has significant symbolism and content, it has simply too much to cover!!! and this film/novel imo is only appropriately by higher academics (College/University level) rather than on high school level due to its significant and profound context. Also personally I think it is limited in a sense that the theme's despite its universality to men and human conditions in general. It is limited in the focus of "Familial belonging" and anything relationship in general. Yes there's some reference to the men's daddy issues and how they are mostly raised by single mother and similarly in the novel how Marla experience the same, but it doesn't show too much variety and I'm not sure how you could connect that effectively with your prescribed text

However the definite major point of belonging, sense of identity attach to the idea of the whole commercialism and media dependency. IKEA, STARBUCKS, IBM computers something like that. The constant repetition of modern western society in the midst of emasculation of society through their media portrayal of Men. Feminism was never undermined in this film/novel due to its focus of being "a male oriented film" however "Marla" would certainly symbolised the inner darker sense of men's desire with her senseless of reality. She is the only significant feminist in the film/novel and her actions reciprocate narrator's sense of uneasiness of living. But the definite sense of personality belonging is the transformation of the persona into "Tyler Durden and its subtle transition arises from the awaking alter ego. This started with the subliminal clips very early in the film or in the novel, the story of the narrator's encounter with "Tyler" in the naked beach which surely is very significant in the whole sense of "Perfection" of the shadows from sunset and the stick of hands. However the film portrayed a much more direct and chronological story and a direct sense of perfection content

I can help you with both text form but what are you analyzing exactly?? the film or the novel??
