Hey guys,
I'm worried the essay question MAY be on communities this year, and because I find a lack of community within this film, I was wondering if you could link family to community?
There is not much I can find in the film that links to family really, apart from the protagonist's metaphysical notion that home is an imaginary place/cycle that only exists if occupied by a family, and that family is merely a group of people who find affinity in the same place - home.
So I'm at a loss here, if it was to say how communities influence a sense of belonging or how an individual feels a sense of belonging or isolation because of a community, would I talk about his mundane, nihilistic idea of family and home as being a cycle/imaginary place? Plus, his idea is christened after years of dislocation from his childhood town (place).
