Hey there!

R there any nice ppl out there who could possibly help me out? For a prac assignment, we were required to construct our own galvanometers. I know the principles behind it (mostly) and the fact that it is somewhat built the same way as a motor (if im wrong...someone please correct me) but im having trouble putting it all together and making it work - mainly due to the fac that I dont have a curved permanent magnet and other parts - any sydney ppl out there who can help me and the other gurlz in my class in finding where to buy these parts and methods to put it together and ANY other helpful hints it the contruction and the functioning of it....please please do! Im running out time and will be grateful for hints and tips....even if it is something basic like "use a thin wire" or sumthing.
Thankyou guys

hi angelina :)

here is a website you might find useful:

http://www.eas.asu.edu/~holbert/wise/galvanometer.htm

http://www.al.com/specialreport/birminghamnews/?tommytesttubes/galvan.html

(if you haven't already come across this website..)

although this galvanometer isn't the exact one that we learn in the physics syllabus, I don't think any school would require you to build a galvanometer as complicated as the one that is widely used... ask your teacher for more details, because the requirements of a galvanometer is just a current detector
