Why can't I prove that the triangles are congruent with SAS and then say f=22 due to corresponding angles?

What is actual question; don't know what 1f) is.

Found it; you should have identified it as Ex 11.1 Q 1(f) for instance.

Triangles AED and BCD are congruent by virtue of AAS (not SAS); it follows that f = 22 degrees, since angle CDB = angle EDA, being the corresponding angles of the congruent triangles.
