Hey Guys,

Anyone got any ideas for the answer to this question??

What is a possible immune response to a pathogen?

a) T lymphocytes produce antibodies
b) T helper lymphocytes are activated
c) B lymphocytes produce antigens
d) B lymphocytes phagocytose the pathogen

I really don't get the whole B and T cells stuff!!! :(

a) No, it is the B lymphocytes (to be specific: plasma cells) that produce antibodies.

b) Yes, T helper lymphocytes activates and stimulates other cells to begin the antibody/cell-mediated immune response.

c) No, B lymphocytes produce antibodies, not antigens. It is pathogens that provide antigens to provoke an immune response.

d) No, phagocytosis are performed by phagocytes, not by B lymphocytes.
