Q1
AD and BE are altitudes of triangle ABC, BC = 5cm, CA = 6cm and AD = 4.5cm. Find the length of BE.

Q2
During a survey, two points A and B are ends of a base line. AB = 85metres. Compass bearings are then taken as shown on the survey sketch.
Find the size of angle BAC and angle ABC. Also calculate the distances AC and BC
(See attachment for diagram)

Give no clue about Q1~ and Q2~ i got angle BAC be 60 and ABC be 50~ but the answer at the back of the book is the other way around~!!!

Thx thx!!

Both q's are rather trivial... Maybe you should give another try instead of reading on.
1.
|ABC| = 5*4.5/2
hence 3BE = 11.25
BE = 3.75

2.
AC has bearing 030, AB bearing 080
<BAC is 50 degrees
BC has bearing 320, BA has bearing 260
<ABC is 60 degrees.
giving books' answer.

I'm not sure this is really 3U...
