So psyched, but the premise of having to put up with kiddies shits me.

AMERICAN IDIOT: THE TOUR

The Frontier Touring Company are pleased to finally confirm the much anticipated Australian leg of Green Day's American Idiot world tour.

Currently on tour in the United States, Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt's American Idiot tour is earning rave reviews. As the Star Tribune recently noted, "the politically charged manifesto [American Idiot] is one of the most powerful and best albums of 2004, and Green Day put on one of the most powerful and best concerts of the year."

The tour promises concerts showcasing material from American Idiot as well as the much loved favourites from Green Day's enormous back catalogue of hits. It is a set that will delight both long term and more recent fans.

Musically it is agreed that Green Day are at the top of their game, with PopMatters writing, "they are without a doubt the most successful punk group of all time... they are also one of the very best rock bands currently working. American Idiot is a work of staggering ambition, made all the more impressive by the fact that they make it all look so damn effortless."

Their first single off their #1 album American Idiot charted at #7 in Australia with massive radio airplay. It is expected that their next single Boulevard of Broken Dreams (in store December 10) will debut even higher, with the single the number three most played on Australian radio last week.

Also touring with Green Day will be chart sensations Simple Plan. Their latest single Welcome To My Life from their album Still Not Gettin' Any (Warner) debuted into the top 10 on the ARIA charts, while the album debuted into the top 20.

Without doubt, Pierre Bouvier (vocals), Chuck Comeau (drums), David Desrosiers (bass, backing vocals), Sebastien Lefebvre (guitar, backing vocals) and Jeff Stinco (lead guitar) have taken Australia and the world by storm, and their inclusion on the Green Day tour notches up the excitement an extra level.

Tickets for Green Day presents American Idiot: The Tour go on sale on Friday December 3.

hmmm...

yep, you're going to have a few mini-bopper "I love avril lavigne I'm FULLY PUNK" punks to hold off...

Green day's okay. I don't like a simple plan. I mean, at least TRY to hide your three chord secret...

I hated Green Day's "warning" album. That sucked ass.

Oh it wasnt their best i must admit, still had a few killers on it, i enjoyed macy's day parade :)

But yeah, oh well, i guess thats what happens when they get popular :)

Ill still be enjoying it, but i was hoping for a smaller gig, like i think the last time they came they were at the horden, which i think suits them better.

Heres hoping triple m release a private concert ^__^

simple plan are sooo crap, i can not believe green day bothered to bring them along for a tour. I know you need an opening act that sucks, but seriously we don't want people walking out the door before they start.

Green day would be good, provided they stay away from their stuff from warning. Some of the new stuff is good and the older stuff is punk rock gold. Not quite sure if i could sit through the simple plan set without throwing fruit or other rotten food at them, hmmmm, but yeah green day would go off.

The musicians in green day seem rather dumb, but their music's nice and catchy...

It's funny that u bag out simple plan saying 'THEY'RE NOT PUNK ROFL!!' cuz there's alot of people who say the same about green day, obviously u can't be big and punk

i have a problem with mainstream punk. not because its punk or because its mainstream. it's the fucken chords. I know a lot of music plays three chords, but these guys don't even hide it.

AT LEASt in my opinion anyway.

dookie was and is one of the best punk albums around. After that Green day lost it's roots. I have still have respect for them from those days. Today they are more politically minded and their music seems to be more directed with a purpose at influencing rather then the old punk ways. I wouldn't call 'em dumb, just different. They are very politically minded and strongly are against the war in Iraq and there current music seems to show that.

arr ok, sorry i didn't read what u wrote right...

Anyway I don't see why u can't just let people enjoy whatever crap they wanna listen to...

I actually love bands that very few people know about, but if other people can hear the music and get some ideas/thoughts from it than that's cool.
I'm sure some dickheads can listen to simple plan and come up with some original thoughts...

Or maybe i've just got a twisted view on music where i just think it's all about creativity =/

yeah maybe some show simple what punk rock is. "Yeah thats right fast....." Seriously those guys spend 2 long doing their hair rather then actully writing decent music or learning how to play their instruments or write anything besides them bitching about being dumped and not being loved by everyone.

cry babies.

nah dude, it's coming from the heart so the music doesn't have to be good

i hate some metal bands that sing about blood and killing and war and stuff more though, saw a show about soliders in iraq and what they listen to and it is often stuff like that which i guess they can relate to, but it's fucking stupid because the actual bandmembers haven't been in war or anything, they have no basis for singing about blood and killing and shit apart from movies and computer games
