I'm currently finishing off yr 10 and not doing too badly. Our teachers have been lecturing us on how important good study habits are since the moment we set foot inside high school. Most people think I study a lot since I get good marks in all subjects, but I hardly ever study properly. I am not saying this to show off, it's a really bad thing now that I am nearing the end of school. To me, studying is always tedious and I can only 'study' if I have something else in the background like Facebook or a movie or else I just cannot concentrate at all.
As I know how important HSC is, I am determined to change my ways (especially since I took the advice of my teachers and did both advanced English and Maths, with extension. Don't take in the wrong way...I WANT to do them but I am having doubts)

So, after all that I suppose the question is: What is the best kind of study for HSC? How much of your time should study take up (at least in these early stages)?

I've been doing well in high school thus far but I really feel if I don't do something about this HSC will be hell >_<

It's good you are realising your study habits will need to pick up if you want to maintain.

Case in point, I had super amazing results in Yr 9 and 10 but they definitely dropped in yr 11 because everyone starts knuckling down and studying.

And it's really hard trying to set the habits up cold in yr 12. Best kind of study is when you are focused and productive.
