Hi,

Just wondering if there are any ways I can present my composition to ensure that the best marks. Apparently, the markers want the composition to have an idea that is varied, would this mean that a structure like theme and variation could be the best way to showcase this too the marker?

The way to get the very best marks is to make it really obvious that you've used all the compositional techniques you possibly can - the composition itself can sound like crap, but if you've got heaps of obvious techniques all over the place the markers have no choice but to check their boxes and give you great marks.

Use dynamics and expression markings excessively. Use a theme and re-use it in too many different ways. If you're writing in a specific style/genre, use any and all staple/iconic stereotypes belonging to that style that you can think of.
