Hi,

I am thinking of going to a residential college at the University of Melbourne and I was wondering how people have funded/are funding the accommodation fees? Even with my part time job, I won't be able to afford the fees. I understand that there are scholarships and bursaries but unfortunately I don't fall into any of the scholarships categories.

Thanks!

If you definitely have to pay for it all yourself there's not really much else besides a part time job for money really, if there's another way to get money I'd love to hear about it.

Not sure about melbourne colleges but I know many colleges from second or third year you can be an RA (residential assistant i think it stands for), which is like you are there to sorta supervise and look after the younger students, and you either get paid for it or get reduced accommodation fees so that could be an option in later years?
