For questions that are worded '...and at least 1 related text', could we ONLY use one (1 Viewer)

I've been looking through some past HSC papers, and they've never explicitly asked for more than one related text for each module. The closest it gets to asking for two is when the question is worded 'at least one related text of your own choosing'. Does that mean that if we ONLY used one we would lose marks, or perhaps not score as highly as someone who used two?

I don't want to learn more than I need to.

I called the advice line about this. The lady said you should do one really good, strong text and then another possibly weaker text.

DAMN IT!>!>!>!

I was really looking forward to only studying one related text for each module. I guess you wouldn't really need to study for the weaker text huh? Maybe just rely on memory. What do you think?

Well I memorise my essays :p

But to be on the safe side, I would prepare a weaker text in terms of just a few techniques I can jot in but then makes heaps of study notes and stuff for the stronger text.

In history, there have been cases where "at least TWO related texts" are required for Module A and Module C. Make sure you're prepared for a question like that.
If the question says "at least ONE related text", then yes, you are allowed to do just one or more. However, don't rely on the fact that it will always ask for one. Prior to 2006, Module C questions always required "at least TWO related texts".

Re: For questions that are worded '...and at least 1 related text', could we ONLY use

for the 2012 trials, the question mentioned the "at least ONE related text" thing and i did 2. When we got our marks back, my teacher got us all in trouble for doing 2, she told us to give the marks only what they ask for i.e. just ONE related text :/

any tips?

Well they didn't ask for 'just ONE related text', they've explicitly stated that you may use more than one in the question so I really don't see how your teacher got you in trouble for doing 2. Personally, if it asks for 'at least ONE' I like to stick to just doing one related in the exam, but it's a matter of how well the question suits your related texts really, if you have prepared two.

If they ask for AT LEAST ONE then you can do two or more, but you're better off still only doing that one. That way you can really get depth with your text.
