I am writing an essay for ext. 1 english about "The Big Sleep" and the importance of conventions. I did a spelling/grammar check. After you go through that a box pops up and tells you some info on your writing: how many words, paragraphs, words per paragraph etc. and at the bottom it has the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level and Flesch Reading Ease stats. I looked them up and they are a sort of test to see who your writing is appropriate for. On both my writing scored for appropriate reading for 15-ish year olds. Is this good? Who should we be writing for?
I assume that what we write should be easy to understand, in Ext. 2 English a few people have told me to write as thought he audience is 10 and slow but I'm sure my english teacher would not be happy if I started writing like that.
Anyone know who we should aim our peices at? Or what kind of score we should be getting on those test things?
Thanks
