Traditionally (based on my limited best-effort observations), they select 3-4 people for the deputy premier to call. Now for logistical reasons NESA support staff reach out a day in advance to confirm whether they were happy to be recorded.
Then, conversations for these selected “lucky FICs”take place on the Saturday before the ceremony.

Note that the following is my speculation only: the rest of FIC achievers will get notified by NESA staff after the dramatic deputy premier talks. You should therefore not completely lose hope if you haven’t been called yet.

usually on the same day but they’re recording a few ppl so they know earlier maybe by a day or two. The process might be diff this year cause the education minister is being temporarily relieved. I haven’t heard from anyone at all in my school and friends who’ve received a call which is weird cause a few ppl do get it and I don’t know if the most reliable source is that person who disappeared within a day. (I might js be delusional but yh this is what I’m assuming)
