not sure what you mean

if you mean to eliminate parameters then

x - 3 = r cos @
y + 2 = rsin @

(x-3)^2 + (y+2)^2 = r^2

in other words, the relationship between the two equations is always a circle with radius (3, -2) and radius "r" units

In parametrics, the aim is to eliminate the third variable.

Can someone help m with Question 10(d) in Exercise 9D of the cambridge 3U year 11 book.

i) The line intersects the parabola . Obtain an equation whose roots are the values of corresponding to the points of intersection ( is divided in the ratio :1)

ii)Find a ncessary and sufficient condition for the line to be a tangent to the parabola.
