A household cleaning agent contains a weak base of general formula NaX. 1g of this compound was dissolved in 100ml of water. A 20ml sample of the solution was titrated with 0.1mol/L HCL and required 24.4ml of the acid for neutralisation.

What is the molar mass of this base?

So I got the number of moles for this base, which is 0.002 mol. Putting it into Mm=M/n, which is 1/0.002, gets Mm=500 g/mol.

The answer multiplies 0.002 by 5, then puts it into the formula. Where does the 5 come from?
