I got my portable hard drive for $90. It's 1TB USB 3.0 (I don't even have 3.0 lol). But this was from a friend buying it for me from Hong Kong.
Why do you want an external?

it used to be cheaper to buy an internal drive and an enclosure separately but with the thai floods the prices went through the roof.

you were looking at 2tb usb3.0 for like $130

lol

Yeh prices have been bad for ages cos the western digital factory got flooded and they make p much all the hard drives (even for other brands).
I wish large capacity (3-4gig+) ones would appear at reasonable prices soon but I doubt it.

Have completely filled up 1TB internal, 1TB external, 4 x 750 GB external and about 5x8GB USB drives.

Will buy a few of those (2tb) green drives for internal storage soon.

Worst thing for me is I'm paranoid, so I want everything on an external for use and backed up on another so I dont lose anyfink if they randomly die w/o warning or whatever.

Well I got my WD Elements 3TB external for $150 at JB a month ago. Just a tip, don't trust Seagate externals, they have a bad rep to get corrupt and fail somehow after a few months.

MSY is generally cheaper than most of the large retailers. There's a store at ultimo (near UTS). http://www.msy.com.au/ (look up the 'parts pricelist')

Eg. There is a WD 1.5T for $99
Yeah but if it dies within its warranty period expect the cunts to try and delay it.
