Hey dudes.
im now in year 12 and have started extension 2 maths (4unit). i still have to learn all the content in the mathematics course as you may know (our school sets up ext 2 all queer) blah blah blah. im tossing up with keeping on doing it or not. i would have enough units if i did btw.

so my question is if any one else has made the decision between these courses. i find 2 unit rather fun and am confident in a band 5 or 6. just let me know your thoughts on the subjects and how to choose.

also what range of marks in 4 unit will improve my uai compared to a band 5-6 in mathematics.

I'm doing 4 unit maths now and still have to do the 2 unit assessments just in case we decide to drop down to 2/3 unit. I decided to do 4 unit because I knew I was capable of doing it and I had that desire to take up the extensive course, which you know is very different to the 2/3 unit course. I recommend you hold on to the 4 unit and see how you go in your next assessment or two.

Keep Ext 2 for its great scaling potenial.

Im only do ext 2 for its scaling otherwise I would have just done the normal 2/3 unit as 2 unit is pretty easy.

I also find it a big disadvantage to me and the ext 2 people in my school as 4 unit is counted as a 2 unit subject yet we only have 2 hours of 4 unit a week, IN THE MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I reckon you should do is hold onto the 4 unit course for now, and see whether your marks in the 4 unit assessments are going to be able to at least match the marks you gets in the 2 unit course. If it does, then stick with 4 unit maths, and if not, then you should consider dropping down.
