Hi!
I completed my HSC in 2008 and am currently tutoring for all levels of mathematics, chemistry, physics and PDHPE. Lessons are in St Ives (North Shore), as I have easy access to lots of resources here. [This is just an update of my previous post (http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php t=197033&p=4036587#post4036587)]
Throughout school and university, my friends repeatedly asked me for help with difficult questions or asked me to re-explain things when they couldn’t understand a concept - and I loved being able to help them, that’s I tutor now. I've been tutoring for over three years now [students up to Ext 2 Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry] and my students love my friendly and relaxed approach, whilst I help them learn.
I know what a difference it can make having a good teacher or tutor that you can relate to!
My HSC results
I am at the University of Sydney, doing a combined degree: Bachelor Science (Advanced)/Bacherlor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery, on an outstanding achievement scholarship for the 7 years of this degree. I've completed my 3rd year.
My resources and approach:
I can offer individual or small group tutoring (~4 people) for maths, chem and phys. For HSC subjects, I provide comprehensive dot point coverage of the syllabus with access to worksheets and notes, past HSC and trial papers, textbooks and various other resources.
I provide concise yet comprehensive explanations, pinpointing student's weaknesses, then go into further detail and provide on-the-spot examples and homework(where necessary) to consolidate my students' knowledge.
I’ll also help you with exam technique, e.g. discussing WHAT to include in an answer thus ensuring you can gain the most marks that you can in an exam, even if most people don’t finish the paper (like in ext 2 maths). I give you guidance in how to generally approach the HSC (study, preparation, how to make good notes etc) because it really doesn’t have to be stressful.
