Hey,
I'm about to start preparing for the essay section. Would you guys have any recommendations on which essays i should prepare for, be they general or specific?
Thanks.

Hey Paz,

The essays are always general questions. My teachers has suggested that we write out an essay plan for our electives and include as much as we can, memorise it and write it down to fit the essay question.

The questions are really general so anything you can think of include it in ur essays. But especially concentrate on the effectiveness of laws etc in ur chosen topic.

Hope this helps
GOOD LUCK

I'd say it probably depends on your elective... cause I virtually have a set layout for tech change, as theres only so much they can ask, but for family, theres a few things they can ask, as it tends to rely on the "themes" in the syllabus...

But if you tend do an essay of the effectiveness of the legal system in response to changing values in your elective- itd tend to cover a few things, also if you make a few notes on a continuous aim in the legal system in your elective, i.e. in family its the focus on sustaining the family unit and how children are of paramount interest... then making notes on why change and conflict occur... youll also have to make notes on the key legal processes and mechanisms involved when dealing with change, and possibly generally as well...

hmm, that probably didnt make much sense, but i hope it helped slightly... it tends to cover pretty much everything... so good luck.

I wouldn't rely on effectiveness of the law coming up this year though. For the last 3 years effectiveness has came up, however there are over themes that the board of studies could have picked when making this exam, in particular continuity and change and law reform. Students who prepare for these other themes might be giving themselves a good advantage for this exam.
