Hi

I was wondering if your rank in Eng. Ext.2 has an affect on your final HSC mark, or is your mark only determined by your MW and statement?

It affects your assessment mark. Your external mark is entirely based on your MW and RS.

Say you were coming 1st in EE2. The best external mark of your cohort was a 46. You only received a 43 yourself.

your internal mark would be 46, your external 43 and therefore your HSC mark 43+46/2=45.

If your rank is inbetween (i.e not first or last), say you were third, you don't receive the third highest mark because it is moderated based on the gaps.
