I'm planning to undertake a gap year after high school due to some extreme personal circumstances (which is also the reason why I definitely cannot be able to sit the UCAT this year) and I was wondering if EAS adjustments are still available when I apply for university entry in 2026? I checked with my careers advisor but unfortunately it just made me even more confused :(
I'm aspiring to gain entry into undergrad med and I'm worried if my atar would be lower than the threshold for most universities. So will I be at a disadvantage if I apply for med on a gap year in hopes of getting EAS adjustments?

I’m fairly certain this is false, and on top of eas a lot of unis also have seperate more generous schemes for medicine for regional students and students from low socioeconomic areas

i know that usyd rarely gives adjustment factors like i had a friend who had really bad family issues and they didn't give her adjustment factors

I don't know much about this stuff but I'm pretty sure most unis do accept to some extent? It's probably only UNSW and USyd that reallyyyyy don't tend to accept

WSU I'm pretty sure (if you're in the region) has a much lower ATAR requirement than is usually advertised for med, so that could also be an option if you really wanna get into undergrad med :)

This is just what I know off the top of my head, I hope your personal circumstances are okay :(
