My ultimate dream is to become a novelist. I've brought up this topic before and received informative replies, now I want more! My questions are, what makes a good novel (e.g. originality)? What makes you unable to put down a book? Thanks.

I think having characters people can relate to, or at least understand is essential, you want people to be able to connect with what you're writing
