i have serached for this dot point in the formums and i cant find an answer to it, so if any one could help with this dot point:

analyse information from secondary sources to outline the evidence that led to Beadle and Tatums one gene one protein hypothesis and to explain why this was altered to the one gene one polypeptide hypothesis

Try the summaries in the student resources part of this site(its outside the forums), it has several summaries of the whole course, dot point by dot point

beadle and tatum came up with "one gene, one protein" (later modified to "one gene one polypeptide") theory...

they mutated bread mould Neurospora crossa using xray
so the bread mould lacks the ability to produce a particular vitamin or amino acid
then they cross bred it with wild type of bread
the resultant bred cannot produce the animo acid/vitamin specified (didn't appear in my notes, but i inferred this one)
there fore the link between biochemical process and genes are discovered by beadle and tatum...
