I need your help!

I'm doing my SRP on which substances prolong the life of cut flowers

chose vinegar, salt, sugar, lemon

now it all goes down the substance water and sugar

so which one prolong the life of cut flowers? water or sugar?

please help out

Water will most likely....A little bit of sugar in water won't be bad, but too much, will feed bacteria in the soil, possibly damaging the plant, thus killing it.

I think that is the reason why for the experiment, water turned out to prolong the life.
I added 4 teaspoon of sugar in 1 litre of water
