so that's the question.
but more specifically: is it as good as the same course in USYD or better?
Is it worth doing?
and also between architecture and surveying which one do you prefer?

thanks

UNSW has a great engineering faculty.
Probably better than USYD(although others may disagree).
The thing about surveying is it's a very outdoorsey job. You're exposed to heat, rain, cold, wind, all day everyday.
That being said you may like that as a job.
Decent pay apparently.
Pretty different to architecture(I think), so you can't really compare them too well.

Did a surveying unit last semester, bogan lecturer said not enough people do it and that UNSW surveying is one of the best. For me surveying is pretty boring.

Surveying involves both outdoor work (in the field collecting data using GPS, instruments taking shots, setting out buildings, pegging boundaries etc) and office work (reducing data, producing graphics, producing plans). The starting salary is about the same for graduate surveyors/engineers. One good thing is that surveyors are in even more demand than engineers, so there should still be plenty of jobs in the future.

UNSW is the best in the state for surveying. As above, entirely different to architecture though.
