Following pressure from the local community concerned about high rates of skin cancer,
Sunnyside Council decides to ban people not wearing hats from its public beaches. To
which of the following influences has the council responded in introducing this law?
(A) Social and moral
(B) Cultural and moral
(C) Social and political
(D) Cultural and political

Does anyone else hate these questions? What is your answer?

(C) - Social and political. The reason being because the social pressure is coming from the general community, who are concerned about people getting skin cancer. The government has implemented the 'hats policy' because that way if the community is happy, they get reelected. So they have political motives behind the implementation of this rule.

Great answer =), but, at first i thought it was Social and Moral - so did my legal studies teacher, but my Legal studies teacher got advice from the head teacher, and she said it was Social and Political because, if there is a government level involved, one of the factors has to be political.

Your Head Teacher is correct. Whenever the government pulls its weight, there's gotta be another motive.
