No (firm believer in individualism!), although the objectification of people has definitely increased on almost every single level.

This is a nice q but can you elaborate? I guess the human brain is an object, if you know the right way to act and do its easy to make someone think a certain way, or to feel a certain emotion etc. but I also think we have a 'you-ey' bit in ourselves that can't be changed by external influence, like you might deviate from that belief for a while but you always ultimately come back just cause it feels 'you' (what you could say is a persons heart or soul)....this is a weird question cause normally people compare humans to animals, but then you are going all the way back to objects :p :)

no, only females
This.

Nah, well, both males and females are subjected to objectification, but I guess females are just...

1. Prostitution - literally buying a person for your own sexual gratification
2. Pornography - objectifying a person(s) for your own sexual gratification
3. Set standards - Magazines, models, etc. Need I say more?

To an extent are people seen as objects? Hell yes.

How so is this question asking?

It depends on what "objects" you define people as.

^yeah what do you mean by 'objects'

perhaps it means that women are seen as objects as already mentioned by Adrita, or perhaps people are seen as objects to be tactically used in a workforce.

Yeah like I know that in everyday life, most people see others as objects and just walk past them instead of speaking to them.

How many people do you think others regard as objects and obstacles to walk around in a shopping mall or on a crowded street or on the road for cars?

Most people would in the end. I doubt people acknowledge others and try to remember them.

But this comes due to the concept that Earth is overpopulating. So psychologically, people do this without thinking because they are too pre-occupied on doing another task than to acknowledge and remember every person's face without talking to them, but instead just walk around them.

That's my interpretation of people as objects.

Other than that, I don't know how else you can call others objects which everyone sees everyday.

Technically yes. Everything is an object. We are nothing but a collection of specifically organized atoms orbiting a baby star.

I think this question is meaningless, and on a much broader level, philosophical questions are meaningless: just enjoy your life. Asking things like "Do you have the right to suicide?" or "What is the purpose of life?" or even this question only gets you in a conceptual mess. But, that's my opinion. You can respectfully disagree and we can set our differences aside.

No? People are people and deserve to be treated as such, we're much more than merely objects.

Definitely possible. At least 35% of the people I encounter are absolute tools. However, the judgement is out on the other 65%.

People are just people, but sometimes I am thinking each individual as a country.

Let's think about, religion is created by humans, where there are gods in that religion. This means we are also gods since we created the gods in the religion, hence we all aren't objects but rather spirits lololol
