do they specify a particular text in the essay or even creative response, or are they up to the student all the times?

They cannot specify.. e.g. in the Individual and Society module, you only have to study 3 of the 5 texts set for study... so they can't say that you must refer to A Dolls House because you might not have studied that!!!!

they are not totally demonic.. just a little..

is it just me or are the responses on the standards packages really lame and easy to match? and yet our teachers mark our stuff way harder (it seems)...

My teacher reckons they can specify
ie i do Crime Fiction, and she said they could ask you to refer to your prose fiction text
So not neccessarily a particular text, but a text type which you would have had to study
Can anyone verify/disprove this?

the problem with ext eng (as my teacher continues to remind me) is that they can ask for anything...they can be as nasty as they want 2 be! we must be prepared for any situation! lol
