Are there any mandatory units for either? If so what. What are the main differences in course structure? Are there differences between majors/ Specialisations that are allowed/ compulsory?

A lecturer who I spoke to at the UNSW open day said the B Social Science was pretty much a BA with a social science component to it. You have to do a major from the social science units (social policy, government relations, etc.) and a major from arts. During the final year of the social science course there's also a compulsory internship that you have to undertake. To my knowledge, the B Social Science is more geared towards preparing you for a career in working with things like policy making, whereas the BA is more broad.

Check the course handbook, it explains things better:)

But from what ive seen in the handbook guide, it is not possible to do a language in social science? I am interested in doing an asian language but i find that if i combined my degree with social science this is not possible. Is this true??? if so, would it differ much if i chose arts?
Note: i wanna combine it with social work

Note: someone i spoke to said i should do social science cause im more interested in the researching/analysing social things.
