hey.

i have an assignment. and it states that i have to make reference to at least on critical essay from another time period.

i have no succeeded in finding any.

does anyone know where to find them? or have any?

Hey, I'm a little confused by 'critical essay', it's a bit broad, does the teacher want a critical essay analysing a text or just a literary critical essay?

Anyways here are a few of my favourites:

After the Lost Generation; a critical study of the writers of two wars- John Aldridge
Reading (Absent) Character- Thomas Docherty
Kinds of Literature- Alastair Fowler
Anatomy of Criticism- Northrop Frye
Art as a Technique- Victor Shklovsky (Russian Formalism- beware! )
To Write: AN Intransitive Verb?- Roland Barthes (Structuralist)

Criticism and Ideology- Terry Eagleton (Marxist)

Anyways I thought these were pretty cool myself- but I have them in books so they might me a bit hard to find...
