My PC has an early model reference design 8800GT, so it can idle at around 60 to 70 degrees and with the summer heat on the 2nd floor it raises the ambient in the case to the 50s, and that really doesn't help with keeping the CPU temp down, idling around 35-45 degrees.
I don't want to spend the money to replace the 8800GT just for cooling, so I want to try replace the stock CPU HSF. Its a Q6600, not overclocked, in a TT Soprano DX case. Maybe $80-$100 tops, any suggestions?
