Okay so Im under the impression that the following is true but Im not 100% sure.
The marks that you get in school dont really matter. What actually matters is your rank. Obviously a better mark is likely to get you a better rank, but other than that the mark means nothing. This is because if you rank first in school, for instance, the mark you get in school doesnt matter because the "school" mark you actually get is the mark of the person who does best externally, i.e. in the HSC exam.
Please correct me if I am wrong..
The reason I ask, I suppose, is to reassure myself that I shouldnt be down on myself for geting sorta average-ish marks if my ranks are quite good.
