we're doing australian music of the last 25 years, and ive gotten this idea to write music to a poem and base my compo on that

does anyone know any good australian poem,s i could use?

"I love a sunburnt country/land of something plains". hehe. very clich. the work we're doin at school atm is Anne Boyd's "The Last of His Tribe", based on a poem by Henry Kendall, from the 19th century. might be able to find something on the net or in anthologies from his, seemingly his name rings a bell re lots of aussie poetry...

Clive James? though probably not australian poetry in the sense of culture etc - expat to the UK since the 60s doesnt give the impression that its all about australia, but he rights stuff neway.

i have no idea what im doing for the core compo. its gonna be horible....
