What is the reaction involved when a condensation polymer is formed ?

How do you explain this ?

Monomers with different or same functional groups combine to form a polymer and a small molecule usually water. Eg cellulose glucose+glucose+glucose... = cellulose and h20

yer its just a polymer with water as the other product..
polyesters, such as poylactic acid are technically condensation polymers as water is a product of the esterification process.

just remember that adjacent polar functional groups (eg. hydroxy) react to form a small molecule such as water. ie. per one bond formed, one small molecule is released (or per two monomers reacting/joining, one small molecule is released).
