hey
was just wondering what effect your classmates will have on your final results, if they do pretty average. I.E. my mate recieved a mark of 98% in senior science, whilst the average of the 40 odd students in his cohort recieved an average of 65%.
if this was continuous, how much would his mark drop ? (his/my schools ranked in the mid 200's)
he hasnt got an account on here, hence the reason im talking in the third person.
thanks in advance!

As long as he's ranked first, they shouldn't have any effect.

i think that's getting too technical and difficult for us to answer

but once again it depends on the performance of the cohort in the hsc and also relativities between ranks

.. however, to answer your question probably not by much at all. If the top of the class pulls their weight then there won't be much noticeable negative downward pressure on the pool of marks

fair enough answer. my mates currently coming first but dosent know if he will be able to sustain it as there is still a few people that are quite competitive and wants to know the outcome of coming say 3rd or 4th, (not first.)
