Its all relative.

I think its pretty challenging and lengthy.

Others may think otherwise.

If you are willing to put the time and effort, then its quite easy

It is easier than the prelimiary course although there is a lot of content to remember.

anything's easy if you're "willing to put the time and effort"

but anyway
hsc chemistry has alot content like what others have said.. I also feel there's alot of memorising too.. You need to be able to retain ALOT of information yet understand chemistry well at the same time, ie, it's not all about understanding..

This. However if you understand everything throughout the year, you can cram before exams and do well :p

Depends where your talents lie. I find it alright... Lots of crap to remember though...

Chemistry is the biggest waste of your life if you not considering to be one of these:

1. Analytical chemist
2. Environmetal chemist
3. Industrial chemist
4. Chemistry Teacher
5. Blah blah blah

The chemistry course is dry as hell, boring to the extent that you will never again want to meet another chemist in your life.

But for all these sacrifices, you get a high scaling subject =)

I don't agree with that.
I found the hsc course to be sooooo much more interesting as it relates to more everyday things compared to the prelim course. (this may of been because I had a much better teacher in yr 12 than yr 11) Just have a look at the information on the syllabus on hsc online and see if those topics interest you.

You don't have to agree, but the content is dead boring. Imagine having to memorise the strings of chemical equations and their states. Ahh, bores me.

I find it quite difficult yet with enough practice it can be quite rewarding (eyes 90 UAI equivalent at around 65 raw mark)

Difficult and useless (for me), may as well do something you enjoy more. But you can't resist the good scaling >.<

I personally really enjoyed the HSC Chem course. It's soooo much better than the prelim course. And my marks improved greatly, since I loved the hsc course that much more.

It's more real stuff... its not the theoretical bullshit as much as u get in prelim.
Just work hard and you'll enjoy it.

I can't see much difference in Prelim and HSC chemistry. I think they are all theoretical BS.

Yes very boring i must agree but the scaling makes it hard to resist.
