I was just doing a past paper and I need an explanation of this solution. I calculated the number of moles, my issue is the V = 0.18 x 24.79 part. I recognise the 24.79 as the volume of ideal gas, however I don't understand why we are able to use it like that here? Thanks!

I realised I didn't screenshot the specific question... it was just "Calculate the volume of gas released from the soda water"

the formula is moles = volume / volume constant (on data sheet)

I think they just want you to assume standard lab conditions. In the hsc they’d be more clear about something like this
