Changing 1st person to 3rd person for creative writing (1 Viewer)

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but for Paper 1 Section 2 if they provide you with a quote/s that is in 1st person and ask something along the lines of "Use the quote as the stimulus/basis/inspiration for your creative writing" can you use the general idea of it but write your piece in 3rd person? Thanks
