CFA Questions: Any CFA holders out there? (1 Viewer)

Ok i live in the Sydney area and most of the videos i've been seeing are from American and UK so i don't quite understand how taking the CFA works in Aus. Is the CFA sufficient for everything i need to know and to book the exam? Where is the exam taken in the Sydney area?

What are your general comments and advice? I basically understand that the extent to what they mean in that "you must study 300 hours" is that if you can, study 800 hours with double the tenacity and count it on a time table because you will bloody need it. I plan on giving myself 12 months from the end of July. I'll definitely buy the books and try to get secondhand kaplam schweser books if not use utorrent lol.

My understanding is that it's the same exam around the world - quite a few of my friends did their CFA to varying degrees of completion.

I considered doing CFA but after looking at what my future looks like, the blood and sweat required for me to get the CFA in a few years could probably be better used elsewhere given I don't actually work in finance.

Just like the CA program (or joining a gym), if you are doing it with your friends or colleagues in a similar position to you, it'll make studying that much easier.

It's alright for you you're already a CPA judging from tag haha. I'm an Econ student so i feel like i need any accreditation i can get.

Wait until you have an idea what your job or next job entails. Best if you can get someone else to foot the bill or better yet, give you extra leave.
