Yes, my ranks do indicate that I've done fairly bad at school and there are excuses which I won't even attempt to raise. All my marks were below the mean, which I wasn't far from in each of my subjects. I know I've got potential to do well and get band 5's and 6's except PDHPE. The only question I want to know, is whether I still stand a chance of getting 83 or if not due to UNSW's 5 bonus mark policy, a UAI of 78 or above.

Bonus mark policy?

The way you could work it out is have a guess/find your schools mean HSC mark and work from that? I'm not sure if we have access to those or not, but take a guess/estimate then modify it for where you think you will come in your year.

I think the 5 point bonus ur referring to is from UWS (Uni of Western Sydney).
